Mr. Natwarlal: The synonymous name of thuggery is 'Mr. Natwarlal'. No one knows Natwarlal by his real name Mithilesh Kumar Srivastava. This man who used to make art of cleverness and cheating is no longer in this world, but many books were written on him and a film was made - 'Mr. Natwarlal' in which Amitabh Bachchan was the hero. Films like 'Do Aur Do Paanch', 'Hera Pheri' and the recently made movie 'Raja Natwarlal' are also inspired by her life. All the thugs of the country take the name of Natwarlal with great respect.

Natwarlal's fame is also because he sold Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament House in real life. Rich people also believed his words. Natwarlal himself once said in a full court that 'Sir, your style of talking is such that if you allow 10 minutes to talk, then you will give the same decision, which I will say.'

Born in Jiradei village of Siwan district of Bihar, Natwarlal kept the governments of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi troubled for many years by the incidents of cheating. Mr. Natwarlal had more than 52 cases registered. The world's most vicious, clever Natwarlal always used to commit crimes in a very dramatic way. He was caught in a more dramatic way than he used to commit crime and in the same dramatic way he managed to escape. It used to be that he used to write the script of all these three incidents.

At the age of 75 years, two soldiers of Uttar Pradesh Police and a Havildar had come from Delhi's Tihar Jail to appear in a case in Kanpur. He was to be seated in the Lucknow Mail from Old Delhi Railway Station. There was a huge crowd at the station. The guards were present and Natwarlal was sitting halfway on the bench. He asked the soldier to get the medicine pill from outside. I do not have money but will give it when relatives come to visit me. Now what did the poor soldier know that family and relatives did not like him. The wife died long ago and had no child. The soldier went to get medicine, after all, two guards were present. Natwarlal sent one of these to get water. The lone constable, Natwar said to him, "Brother, you are in uniform and I have a hard urination." If you hold the rope, I will let you in soon, because I am not going to stand up. Nobody knows when Natwarlal took out the rope in his hand, when he joined the crowd and disappeared. The three policemen are suspended and say that Natwarlal escaped for the 60th time.

Natwarlal was last seen at Darbhanga railway station in Bihar. The old Thanedar in the police, who had known Natwarlal since the time of the constable, identified him. Natwarlal also saw that he had been recognized. The soldier went inside the police station to pick up his comrades and by the time he came out, Natwarlal was missing. The unloaded clothes of Natwarlal were found from the goods train parked nearby and the guard uniform was missing.

Natwarlal had no regrets over his actions. He considered himself 'Robinhood'. I used to say that I rob the rich and give it to the poor. He said that I never used a weapon.

Natwarlal's name then came to light in 2004 when he submitted his will file to a lawyer, was admitted to the hospital in Balrampur and after that he left the hospital for a day. Doctors said that in the condition he was in, there was no scope for him to survive more than 3-4 days. He was 117 years old in all the cases of cheating, if he had been punished completely. There was no punishment in 30 cases.

Valley of Chambal: One of the reasons that make this socio-geographical area notorious in its own way is the most important river Chambal flowing here. The origin of this river is in the hills of Vindhyachal, located about 15 km from Mhow, a town near Indore. After this, Chambal flows across the Bhind-Morena regions of Madhya Pradesh, crossing some parts of Rajasthan, then moves towards Etawah district of Uttar Pradesh. The erosion of water has led to the formation of high winding ravines along the banks of the Chambal. They have been impregnable hideouts for the bandits for decades. The revolutionaries of Chambal helped the revolutionaries before independence. Some of these dacoits were to act like robinhood, that is, they robbed the rich and distributed all the money to the poor.

Bandar Mansingh, Tehsildar Singh, Mohar Singh, Madho Singh: The world of Chambal is famous in whose ravines still hide in the ravines. It is very difficult for the police to enter these rugged forests. Malkhan Singh, a notorious bandit lived in these ravines. It was very difficult for the police to catch Malkhan Singh, who was synonymous with terror in the villages of Chambal Valley in the 70s. It was difficult to hold him in jail even more than that.

Many films have been made on Chambal's bandits, the most famous of which is 'Sholay'. This first generation of dacoits of Chambal, active from Ghulam India till 1960, includes big names like Dakar Mansingh, Tehsildar Singh, Subedar Singh, Lukka Daku, Sultana Dakura, Panna and Putli Bai, Pansingh Tomar, Dakar Panchamsingh etc.

Many of these big dacoits surrendered in the wake of Vinoba Bhave's peace campaign in 1960 and the rest were killed in police encounters. However, the surrender of 97 dacoits conducted in 1920 by Madhavrao Scindia (great-grandfather of Lok Sabha MP from Gwalior, Jyotiraditya Scindia) is considered the first official surrender of the history of Chambal.

Many large dacoits surrendered under Vinoba Bhave's peace initiative that began in 1960. After this, Daldanta dacoits like Malkhan Singh, Madho-Mohar, Makhan-Chidda, Baba Mustakin, Phoolan Devi-Vikram Mallah, Sriram-Lalaram and Dadua ruled the Chambal Valley till 1985.

Phoolan Devi: 'Bandit Queen' is a very famous film on Phoolan Devi's life. Not only the influential people of the village far away from Phoolan Devi, the robber also trembled. The life of the female dacoit Phoolan Devi was very struggle but after surrender she became an MP.

She was once a common village girl who only meant her family. Bringing water from outside in the house and cooking food for the whole family, then sleeping peacefully. This was his life. But suddenly an incident with him forced him to pick up the gun and not only the robber of the Chambal jungles, the leaf-leaf started trembling with his voice.

Actually, Phoolan Devi was raped by some people in the village. There were a total of 11 people who committed rape. After this incident, Phoolan Devi's life changed. The family knocked on many doors to demand justice, but he felt disillusioned from all sides. Unable to get justice, Phoolan Devi picked up the gun and joined the gang of bandits. One day Phoolan reached the village with his entire Lash-Lashkar and the 11 people who raped him were lined up one by one and roasted with bullets. There he killed a total of 22 people.

In 1981, Phoolan came into the limelight when his gang was accused of killing 22 upper caste people in Behmai. After doing this, Phoolan Devi became famous not only in the country but also abroad. In 1983, the Indira Gandhi government proposed to surrender to him.

Phoolan laid several conditions before the government for the surrender of himself and the gang members. In this, he or any of his companions should not be given the death penalty, he and his gang people were subject to a punishment of not more than 8 years. The government accepted all the conditions of Phoolan. It was only after he accepted the terms that Phoolan surrendered along with his comrades.

Phoolan was imprisoned for 11 years without trial. In 1994, he was released by Mulayam Singh Yadav's government. In 1996 Phoolan Devi contested the Lok Sabha election from Mirzapur seat in Uttar Pradesh on a Samajwadi Party ticket. She lost the election in 1998 but won again in 1999 and reached Parliament again.

In 2001, Sher Singh Rana shot and killed Phoolan Devi at his residence in Delhi. She was an MP from Mirzapur when Phoolan was assassinated. Phoolan's death is also considered a political conspiracy. Her husband Ummed Singh was also accused, but they could not be proved.

The forests of Satyamangalam, Bandipur, Kollegal, Mudumalai and Wayanad, where Veerappan ruled, are a dark world where another Veerappan can arise at any time. In a 1996 interview, Veerappan told how a child from a poor family first landed in the role of a shepherd and then a hunter to feed himself.
